Alexandra of Denmark, Princess of Wales, 1864 painted by Franz Xaver Winterhalter, commissioned by Queen Victoria. Winterhalter is one of my most favorite painters, famous for his paintings of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. He was THE royal painter of his period. Even Queen Victoria possesed 100 of his paintings.
